Viral: 'Youth In Revolt' On-Set Rant Is An Ad For New Fall 2009 Release Date?

“Youth In Revolt” was supposed to come out this month in February and was then officially pushed back to sometime later in 2009 last week. This on-set Michael Cera flip-out is obviously a winky nod to Christian Bale-gate (dudes, c’mon, so last week), but perhaps it’s serves as more of an ad that gives audiences some confidence in the project as it comes tagged with a “Fall 2009″release date (finally). We don’t want to sound too skeptical as it is semi-amusing, but pretty predictable, no? We dunno, Cera can do better than this.

“Youth In Revolt” is the long-awaited feature film return of Miguel Arteta who hasn’t made a film since 2002’s “The Good Girl.” During this time he’s been busying himself with directing episodes of “Six Feet Under,” “The Office” and “Ugly Betty.” His 2000 film, “Chuck & Buck,” is creepy, but hilarious and very underrated, so we’re looking fwd to ‘Revolt’ when it arrives later this year, regardless. The film’s cast is pretty awesome and includes Steve Buscemi, Ray Liotta, Justin Long, Jean Smart, Ari Graynor, Fred Willard, Zach Galifianakis, Mary Kay Place and more.

A Dimension Films comedy, ‘Revolt’ according to TWC, is an “outrageous and heartwarming tale of Nick Twisp (Michael Cera) and his quest to win the heart of Sheeni (newcomer Portia Doubleday) and hopefully lose his virginity along the way.”
