Watch: 'A Thousand Words' Can't Describe How Brutal This Trailer For Eddie Murphy's Next Movie Is

nullOh yeah, remember how everyone was talking about Eddie Murphy staking out a career comeback thanks to his first halfway decent role in years, in Brett Ratner's "Tower Heist"? Well, here comes a crushing reminder that the formerly funny funnyman has been phoning it in for years, and will probably continue do so. Lest we forget, one of his upcoming project is "Hong Kong Phooey."

A trailer has arrived for the actor's long shelved comedy "A Thousand Words" and it's just as blisteringly terrible as you might expect. Completed filming way back in 2009, the movie finds Murphy playing a guy who is cursed by some vaguely ethnic person, leaving him 1000 words to speak before he dies. Sounds like a pretty interesting concept but with Steve Koren ("Bruce Almighty," "Click") writing and Brian Robbins ("Norbit," "Meet Dave") directing, we're pretty sure this will be pretty awful. If there is anything the trailer did teach us, it's that Jack McBrayer and Clark Duke are in this too, and it's pretty telling that the latter gets the only and biggest laugh in this whole thing.

"A Thousand Words" arrives in theaters on March 23, 2012 and with no more post-Oscar Eddie Murphy to help out its promotional campaign, it will probably die a quick death against "The Hunger Games" the same weekend. [via Shadow & Act]
