The stories have been told and retold, but there’s a reason filmmakers keep coming back to the Bard — the stories are just damn good stuff. And Benedict Cumberbatch, no stranger to Shakespeare himself, takes center stage in the latest BBC production "The Hollow Crown: The Wars Of The Roses," and he slides into the upcoming event series with ease.

Tackling "Richard IIII," and following "The Hollow Crown" starring Tom Hiddleston, this effort lines up a great cast around Cumberbatch including Judi Dench, Keeley Hawes, Sophie Okonedo, and Tom Sturridge, in what looks like a sumptuous and gritty look at the battle for the English throne.
