Watch: Deleted Scenes From 'The Amazing Spider-Man' Offer Up Hints Of An Even More Cluttered Origin Narrative

nullAs was documented earlier, there was a lot cut from "The Amazing Spider-Man" as Sony and director Marc Webb wrestled with the film prior to release. Among the many elements that were apparently jettisoned in the "the untold story" (which turned out be the story we already knew) was an element that Peter Parker's dad had secretly been involved in his son's transformation into Spider-Man. And some deleted scenes seem to be point out this was the case.

Three scenes from the upcoming "The Amazing Spider-Man" home video release (which we presume will be promptly scrubbed from the Internet, so watch now) provide an intriguing look at what was axed from the movie. Of particular notice is a subeterranean sequence with Irrfan Khan's Rajit Bartha (most of his scenes were cut) who strongly implies to Peter that his father used him for some kind of genetic experiment. It's certainly a different angle, but it also suggests that everyone involved with the movie had trouble deciding whether to stick to the origin story everyone knows or cut a new path. Guess we know which one won out.

"The Amazing Spider-Man" lands on November 9th on DVD and Blu-ray. Watch below. [Vulture
