Watch: Fan-Made, Shot-For-Shot Remake Of 'Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back'

nullWhile Lucasfilm and the folks behind "Star Wars" can be fiercely, almost bizarrely protective of their brand, that’s not to say they don’t recognize the value of fandom. Indeed, if the fan base feels that their passion for the series is felt up the official food chain, the more likely they are to be invested wherever the franchise goes next (and with sequels, animated shows and more in the works, there are lots of places to go). And today, the ultimate fan tribute to "Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back" has arrived.

A shot-for-shot remake of the mega-hit sequel, this project kicked off in 2013, with director Casey Pugh—who put it all together—sifting through fan submissions for the movie, which was chopped up into fifteen second segments for them to interpret however they felt best (there was a lot choose from).

And the result? Well, it’s a mixed bag of styles, but don’t dismiss the the lo-fi effort. A few years ago, "Star Wars Uncut" won an Emmy award. So below are both the trailer and "The Empire Strikes Back Uncut" in full.
