Watch: Go Behind The Scenes Of Alfonso Cuarón's 'Gravity' With New Pics

George Clooney and Sandra Bullock making "Gravity"

We’re less than a week away from the lift off of Alfonso Cuarón‘s “Gravity” in theaters nationwide, and after everyone experiences the space adventure, the first question they’ll ask is, “How’d they do that?” Well, some new pics and a featurette try to help answer some of those questions.

With filming starting in May 2011, it has been a long, long road for “Gravity” to reach screens, and that’s due both to the extensive special effects (there’s pretty much not one single frame without some kind of digital delight) and the elaborate shooting process that went along with it. And these pics detail the largely greenscreen affair that was coupled with a rather intense, detail-oriented shoot that was as much choreography as filmmaking. The end result? A thriller that is a pretty gripping experience all around.

“Gravity” opens on October 4th. Check out the pics below. [Entertainment Weekly via Dread Central]
