Watch: Michael Shannon Forecloses On Andrew Garfield In First Trailer For '99 Homes'

99 Holmes, poster"Don’t get emotional about real estate," Michael Shannon advises in the first trailer for "99 Homes." It’s certainly good advice, but during the housing crisis and economic downturn, it was hard for many not to feel the pain of seeing their savings, memories, and more taken away by the very banks who approved high risk loans in the first place. And it’s against that backdrop that the latest from director Ramin Bahrani plays out.

Andrew Garfield co-stars in the film that follows construction worker, Dennis Nash (Garfield), who is evicted from his home by a charismatic real-estate broker, Mike Carver (Shannon), and is forced to move his mom (Laura Dern) and young son into a shabby motel. In an ironic turn of events, Dennis winds up working for Mike to raise the money to buy his house back, but he’ll have to do the same to others that was done to him.
