'By All': Yahya Abdul-Mateen II To Star In Stephen Caple, Jr.'s Action Film About Policing In The Future

Sometimes, you can just feel the electricity come off actors as they rise through the ranks and become superstars. You just know that at any moment, they’re going to have that breakout role that catapults them to the top. And right now, that is what it feels like with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Sure, he’s already had great performances in big projects (“Aquaman” and “Watchmen,” to name a couple), but the future looks ridiculously bright with “Candyman” later this month, “The Matrix 4” later this year, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” next year, and “Furiosa” sometime after that. And though it might seem like overkill, it appears Abdul-Mateen II just lined up a potential franchise with him in the lead role with “By All.”

According to THR, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has landed the lead role in the upcoming action thriller, “By All.” The film tells the story of a world where there are no police and justice is crowd-sourced amongst the population. Abdul-Mateen II plays a man, Donte, that has to go on the run after a tragic event puts him in the spotlight in a world with no police. “By All” is set to be directed by Stephen Caple, Jr.

Though we already broke down why Abdul-Mateen II is a great actor and deserves all the success, with all of those massive films and great performances, he still has yet to find that one role that makes him a household name. Warner Bros. is hoping “By All” can not only be a hit for the actor but also the beginning of a franchise.

Caple, Jr. is probably best known as the filmmaker who directed “Creed II.” In addition, he’s already in production on the new blockbuster, “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” which is expected to hit theaters next year. A release date for “By All” has yet to be revealed.
