10-Minute Video Breaks Down All The Easter Eggs, Cameos & References In 'Luke Cage'

It speaks to the era we’re living in that a new show can drop on Netflix on Friday, and by Tuesday, someone has cut together a video highlighting all the cameos, easter eggs and references in the series. It’s a topic for another day, but whatever happened to just watching a show and letting it marinate a bit?

Anyway, I’m old, and the kids these days want everything immediately, so Mr. Sunday Movies (via Comic Book Movie) has done just that, cutting together a ten-minute video packed with every morsel about “Luke Cage.” Obviously, you’ll probably want to watch this after you’ve seen the series, but at a quick glance, it seems the folks at Marvel haven’t missed a beat in stuffing “Luke Cage” with a good amount of treats for diehard fans.

Meanwhile, in news that will shock no one, Mike Colter has revealed that he doubts Luke Cage will ever roll into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That’s hardly a surprise given that Marvel has made it very clear that while the TV and movie realms are side-by-side in terms of timeline and setting, they will rarely if ever cross-pollinate. But Colter also believes the grittier Marvel TV brand will keep him out of the movies.

“What we do is really unique,” Colter told Power 105.1 FM’s Breakfast Club (via CBR). “We’re adult kind of oriented. We’re not PG-13. We’re not really for the mass audiences, crowd pleasing, family oriented. We have sex scenes. We have, you know, adult situations, and while I think it’d be nice to be in the films, I don’t know if we want to dilute what we’re doing that makes us very unique.”

Fair enough, but let’s not kid ourselves that if the Russos gave Mike Colter a ring, he wouldn’t hesitate to get on the flight to the next “The Avengers” movie.

“Luke Cage” is now streaming on Netflix (providing it doesn’t go offline for hours at a time like it did this past weekend).
