While the press screening for Yorgos Lanthimos‘ “The Killing Of A Sacred Deer” at Cannes erupted in boos, don’t let that fool you — it would hardly be the first time critics on the Croisette completely missed the boat on something that’s “absolutely fucking brilliant.” Indeed, the director of “Dogtooth” and “The Lobster” is back, and he’s operating completely on his own level, and you’re either along for the ride, or left behind.
Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman lead this eerie film that centers on a married couple with children, whose lives are changed when a teenage boy enters their lives. That’s probably all you’ll want to know about this one before experiencing it. Here’s the official synopsis:
Steven, a charismatic surgeon, is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice after his life starts to fall apart, when the behaviour of a teenage boy he has taken under his wing turns sinister.
“The Killing Of A Sacred Deer” opens on November 3rd. Check out two new clips, and some new images below.
