The marketing for Gore Verbinski's upcoming "The Lone Ranger" has now gone international. After yesterday's pics debuted in USA Today, MSN UK now has three more snaps from the movie, revealing all the bird-hat wearing, steam-train-riding action you could ask for.
As you know, the movie is a big-screen take on the radio program turned TV show turned pop culture hit that finds Armie Hammer in the saddle in the title role, with Depp as his mystical sidekick Tonto. Depp has stressed that he's not doing Jack Sparrow all over again, while Verbinski seems to be taking his love of westerns that we saw in "Rango" and pushing it one step further, in a setting that seems a bit more epic in scope (and perhaps a bit less surreal). And while this all looks good, the movie will live or die on the chemistry between Hammer and Depp, but the potential is certainly there, so we'll be waiting to see how it plays out.
"The Lone Ranger" rides again on July 3, 2013 — a teaser trailer soon perhaps? Until then, here's the international poster for the film as well.
