Breaking up is hard to do. It's even harder if your partner also happens to be your best friend, and that distinction forms the basis of "Celeste And Jesse Forever," the upcoming romantic comedy that takes a funny and dramatic look at the end of a relationship and what it takes to start over.
Premiering earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival, the film presents the story of Celeste (Rashida Jones) and Jesse (Andy Samberg) as they break up, and maintain a close friendship, while trying to navigate the waters of new romance elsewhere. In this clip from the film, we see Ari Graynor as Celeste's best friend Beth, laying out the reason why it's absurd the pair broke up in the first place. For anyone who has been through such a thing, it's a funny and succinct wrap up of how life's expectations don't always match with person you're with. And anyway, "He's fine."
Jones co-wrote the script with Will McCormack, and director Lee Toland Krieger ("The Vicious Kind") is at the helm. Our man in Park City particularly liked it in January (see his review here), and we're sure you will too when it opens on August 3rd. Watch below and check out the batch of new images from the film as well. Update: Two more clips added.
