Ok, so Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon signed on for a fourth installment of the Jason Bourne franchise earlier this year, yes?
Well apparently not really. According to producer Frank Marshall the only people officially signed on are he and writer George Nolfi (a co-writer of the “Bourne Ultimatum” film) and “if things go to plan, a good script will develop that will draw Damon back to he project, despite some resistance to continuing the character.”
Doesn’t sound like his involvement is 100% and essentially: “give me a great script of forget it.” Film School Rejects talked to Marshall at a ‘Ben Button’ junket and it sounds like the producers could look to other [Bourne creator] Robert Ludlum stories if Damon isn’t ultimately interested.
At one point, Marshall had told folks that the film would shoot in the summer of 2009, but that seems highly unlikely. [Film School Rejects]
