5 Character Posters For 'Django Unchained'; Dennis Christopher Says It's "Quentin Tarantino Doing Gone With The Wind"

nullWith a new trailer dropping just over a week ago, the only question left is: will Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" deliver? On the one hand, this could be a tired retread of the same themes, tropes, influences, etc. we've seen from the filmmaker for his entire career. Or it could be using those very things to make a pointed commentary/statement on race, vengeance and more. Whatever it turns it out be, there is no doubt it will be singularly Tarantino-esque.

Meanwhile, The Weinstein Company marketing train keeps a-rollin' for the pic, with brand new character posters for the cast including Christoph Waltz, Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackon and Kerry Washington. As you know the story follows a bounty hunter who forms an unlikely alliance with a freed slave, and they team to get the latter's wife back from the plantation owner Calvin Candie. And among Candie's many associates is the lawyer Leo Moguy. Dennis Christopher ("Breaking Away,""Chariots Of Fire," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation") has that role and he recently revealed to EW a few more details about the part.

"I play Leonardo DiCaprio’s character’s lawyer, who makes sure everything is running properly on this multimillion-dollar plantation. You know Robert Duvall’s consigliere character in 'The Godfather'? That’s who this guy is. He’s the guy that takes care of this very rich family and makes sure all the business stuff is worked out properly. The plantation segment is about the last third of the film. It’s Quentin Tarantino does 'Gone With the Wind.' It’s pretty damn amazing," he enthused.

"Django Unchained" is under the Christmas tree on December 25th. [Empire/Scannain]nullnullnullnullnull
