Danish director Susanne Bier, who was behind the much acclaimed, but decidedly tough likes of "Brothers," "After the Wedding" and Hollywood debut "Things We Lost In the Fire," is not exactly the obvious choice for a romantic comedy. Particularly given that she just won the Foreign Language Oscar a couple of years back for "In a Better World." And yet Bier began her career with rom-coms like 'The One and Only" and "Once In a Lifetime," so her new film, "Love Is All You Need," perhaps shouldn't come as such a shock.
The film, which stars regular collaborator Paprika Steen and former 007 Pierce Brosnan, revolves around Ida (Trine Dyrholm), who finishes chemotherapy only to discover her husband cheating on her on the eve of their daughter's wedding. Chaos is caused, but she soon finds romance with the father of the groom (Brosnan). The film premiered at Venice last week before heading to TIFF, and was generally received as warm and funny. Sony Pictures Classics will release it in the near future, but for now, you can take a look at two new images from the film, courtesy of the distributors.
