More feature films and shorts have been added to the 2009 SXSW Film Festival. They include:
– “500 Days Of Summer,” directed by Marc Webb and starring Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon Levitt.
– Alex Vlack’s documentary about music legend Bill Withers, called, “Still Bill.”
-Academy Award-winning director Barbara Kopple’s Woodstock documentary, “My Generation,” which looks at all of the three namsakes festival incarnations.
The Iron Maiden doc “Iron Maiden: Flight 666,” about the still-going ’80s prog-metal rockers.
– Broken Lizard’s “The Slammin’ Salmon.”
– The role playing culture doc, “Dungeon Masters.”
– The rock posters documentary, “Died Young, Stayed Pretty.”
– Antonio Campos’ YouTubey, IYouth cerebral prepschool drama, “Afterschool.”
– Shorts of interest include Rebecca Rodriguez’s bedroom noir “The Better Half,” the “should I sign my record label contract?” short “Hug,” Mike Ott’s, “A.Effect” about two aspiring actors do their best to woo the same girl with their knowledge of Brecht and Scorsese, and many, many more.
