7 New Photos & Clip From 'Enough Said': James Gandolfini's Penultimate Feature Film

nullReal plots, fully fleshed out characters, themes, subtext, actual emotion….these are things we’ve been craving as we endure the last gasp of the summer season. But luckily relief is around the corner and we’re putting our hopes on the latest from one of our favorite (and somewhat undersung) filmmakers, Nicole Holofcener.

The writer/director behind films like “Please Give” and “Walking And Talking,” returns with “Enough Said,” led by Julia Louis-Dreyfus and the late James Gandolfini, in what is his penultimate film. The story centers on a divorced single parent who falls into an unlikely relationship and romance with a new man (who as you’ll see in the clip below, she doesn’t give a second thought to at first). But things get a bit complicated when the woman’s new massage client turns out be his ex-wife, and has nothing but horrible things to say about him. Here’s the official synopsis:

A divorced and single parent, Eva (Julia Louis Dreyfus) spends her days enjoying work as a masseuse but dreading her daughter’s impending departure for college. She meets Albert (James Gandolfini) – a sweet, funny and like-minded man also facing an empty nest. As their romance quickly blossoms, Eva befriends Marianne (Catherine Keener), her new massage client. Marianne is a beautiful poet who seems “almost perfect” except for one prominent quality: she rags on her ex-husband way too much. Suddenly, Eva finds herself doubting her own relationship with Albert as she learns the truth about Marianne’s Ex. ENOUGH SAID is a sharp, insightful comedy that humorously explores the mess that often comes with getting involved again.

Rounded out by Catherine Keener, Toni Collette, Ben Falcone, Eve Hewson and more, “Enough Said” opens in theaters on September 20th in limited release but premieres first at the Toronto International Film Festival.
