Watch: Clips From Sundance Films 'Sweetwater' With Ed Harris & January Jones & Disney World-Set 'Escape From Tomorrow'

nullIn case you hadn’t noticed, the Sundance Film Festival is up and running, and that means as well as getting to hear about all of the cool movies that all of those lucky writers up in Park City are getting to see, you also get to see the odd clip from some of the festival’s new movies. Well, that’s exactly what we’ve got for you here, with a clip a piece from two of the most buzzed about films coming out of the fest so far.

First up is a clip from Randy Moore’s “Escape From Tomorrow,” which is notable for the fact that the black-and-white movie – which tells the tale of a father’s descent into madness – was shot largely on the fly, without authorization at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Though they don’t feature in this swimwear heavy clip (what is this, “Spring Breakers”?), according the LA Times the movie has scenes featuring the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, Space Mountain, a Main Street parade and Epcot Center. The film debuted on Friday in the NEXT sidebar of the fest, and is apparently one to watch out for regardless of its unusual setting. Here's our full review. [Deadline]

The next clip is from Noah and Logan Miller’s western “Sweetwater,” which features January Jones and (as you’ll see in the clip) an eccentric turn from Ed Harris. In just 96 seconds you can see Harris in all his long white-haired glory dancing resplendently before engaging in a spot of violence. Set in the 1800s, the film features a fanatical religious leader, a renegade Sheriff, and a former prostitute who “collide in a blood triangle on the rugged plains of the New Mexico Territory.” If this clip’s anything to go by, then it looks like it’s going to be bonkers. The film will get its first screening on Thursday, so keep those eyes peeled for the first reactions. [The Daily Beast]
