After an endless stream of deleted scenes from Judd Apatow's "This Is 40," either one of two things are happening: Universal isn't ponying up for the usual extras-laden DVD that an Apatow film usually comes with, or they're just trying to get more people out to see the movie, as it has quietly pushed past $60 million at home. But as the old saying goes, why buy the milk when….well, you know the rest. Anyway, continuing the treats for those who want even more from the two-hour-plus movie, get ready to giggle.
A nice little blooper has dropped online, and while it's not quite as outrageous or infectious as previous outtakes from his other films, it's always fun to see what makes various folks crack up. We get to spend a little time with each of the players in the cast as they flub their lines or break character, and frankly, we could watch Melissa McCarthy or Albert Brooks riff and improv all day. It's a few minutes long, and given Apatow's free-form shooting style we're sure there's even more funny stuff on the cutting room floor…perhaps that'll be the stuff on the DVD? Let's hope, because at this rate, there's not going to be much left to add in there. "This Is 40" is in theaters now.
