Watch: Trailer For Dustin Hoffman's Directorial Debut 'Quartet'

nullIt may have already played at TIFF and the LFF amongst others, but Dustin Hoffman’s directorial debut “Quartet” will be hitting theaters on December 28th and now a trailer for the film has arrived online which you can watch below.

Starring a largely British cast (and a veteran British cast at that), which includes Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon, Billy Connolly, Pauline Collins and Tom Courtenay, the film tells the story of a group of retired opera singers who stage an annual concert to celebrate Verdi’s birthday and raise money for their retirement home. However, those plans are disrupted when the eternal diva Jean (Smith) arrives at the home and throws events into disarray.

The reaction has been positive to Hoffman’s film so far, and it sits on 100% on the eternally reliable Rotten Tomatoes from an early seven reviews. With those good reviews, Hoffman’s name attached, and Maggie Smith (who may be fast becoming a bankable Hollywood leading lady after her "Downton Abbey" fame propelled The "Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" to box office success) in a starring role, then this could yet prove to be a significant sleeper winter hit. And perhaps an Oscar contender as well. See for yourself below.
