Will all the fanboys and ticket buyers who made "The Avengers" a $1 billion success come out for Joss Whedon's indie "Much Ado About Nothing"? Um, probably not, but you gotta admire Whedon for following up his blockbuster extravanganza with a movie he literally shot in his backyard.

Starring friends and frequent collaborators Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Nathan Fillion, Fran Kranz, Jillian Morgese, Sean Maher, Clark Gregg and Reed Diamond, as the title probably tipped you off, this is a take on The Bard's play, but with a modern twist. Here's the official synopsis: Shakespeare's classic comedy gets contemporary spin in Joss Whedon's stylized adaptation. Shot in just twelve days using the original text, the story of sparring lovers Beatrice (Amy Acker) and Benedick (Alexis Denisof) offers a dark, sexy and occasionally absurd view of the intricate game that is love.

The film is making its World Premiere at TIFF in September and is still seeking distribution.nullnullnull
