Establishing himself as one of the most popular and reliable character actors around, with a schedule that doesn't seem to quit, Richard Jenkins has now lined up a key role in Roland Emmerich's upcoming action drama "White House Down." He'll join an ensemble cast led by Channing Tatum as a Secret Service agent defending the president from a terrorist attack (with Jamie Foxx as the Commander In Chief himself), with Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Woods as fellow high-ranking Secret Service agents. Jenkins, meanwhile, will play the Speaker of the House, who trails the VP in the line of succession. The script comes by way of "Zodiac" scribe James Vanderbilt who sold his screenplay for $3 million to Sony earlier this year. [Variety]
