New Image Of Leonardo DiCaprio In 'The Great Gatsby' & New Pic From Ron Howard's 'Rush'

nullAt the moment — though we expect at least one or two of these movies will blink and move in the next few months — Christmas Day is gonna be a pileup of high profile movies, with "Playing The Field," "The Guilt Trip," "Django Unchained" and "The Great Gatsby" all set to open. And the latter two films are already pulling out the big guns. 'Django' screened footage in Cannes and has a teaser trailer dropping any day now, while 'Gatsby' already got a full trailer out of the gate. And if you can't get enough 'Gatsby,' well, here's a bit more for you.

A new look at Christopher Nolan Leonardo DiCaprio as the finely-attired Jay Gatsby has landed online to keep you sated for the moment (update: seems this is an old set photo — sorry about that). As you're aware, Baz Luhrmann's take on the great American novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald will drop some block rockin' beats into the Jazz Age story, and whether or not that mashup will work remains to be seen. Will Carey Mulligan do the Charleston to a Kelis remix? If anything, it will at least be one helluva visual showcase, and we'll see the results by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, there's no release date yet for Ron Howard's "Rush," but with a featurette dropping over the weekend and now the first official still, we wouldn't be surprised if Universal try to position this to hit before the year is out. After all, they've got Thor himself (Chris Hemsworth) in the leading role of the '70s set true story flick about the rivalry between Formula One racers James Hunt and Niki Lauda (played by Daniel Bruhl). Granted, we've seen plenty of set pics thus far, but this is the first from the flick and they've made no mistake in sending out the message: This Is A Movie About Racing. [KinoPoisk]
