Watch: 'The Three Stooges' Trailer Proves Their Comedy Has Not Aged Well

nullWell, for better or worse, the Farrelly Brothers have realized their dream and brought "The Three Stooges" into the modern age. And what does that mean? iPhone jokes and bigger boobs to leer at.

The first trailer for the film has arrived and it's a trainwreck. The slapstick comedy pioneered by the trio just has not aged well. At all. It's hard to know where to begin with this. Let's just say that stuffing a lobster down someone's pants isn't nearly as funny as you think it might be and the requisite Snooki cameo made us want to poke our own eyes out. The trio of Sean Hayes, Will Sasso and Chris Diamantopoulos are fine. They look and act the part, but that's faint praise, as it's not like they're being asked to recreate Shakespeare here. The women fare less well, apparently just window decorating for Curly to get all hot and bothered over.

Can we go back in time and get Jim Carrey, Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro to do this as the directors originally wanted? Or maybe go further back in time, preventing this from ever happening at all? The movie will apparently be presented as three connected short films in the spirit of the old school show. Considering we barely lasted the two minutes of this trailer, watching "The Three Stooges" is going to be quite the Herculean task. It opens on April 13, 2012. Watch below. [Apple]
