New Photos Of Bane In 'The Dark Knight Rises' Reveal The (Sort Of) Return Of An Old Face

As Well As A Slightly Better Look At His Gear

Potential “The Dark Knight Rises” spoilers ahead. So move on if you don’t want to know any more.

Filming on “The Dark Knight Rises” continues in Pittsburgh, with today showcasing the cast and crew capturing an apparent “prison riot.” Leading the charge is Tom Hardy‘s Bane, who appears to be on top of a tumbler not unlike the one that Bruce Wayne uses as his superhero alter ego. What’s provocative about these set photos, snapped by WickPhotography (via CHUD), is that Bane, the musclebound adversary of the Caped Crusader, is apparently holding a photo of District Attorney Harvey Dent, whom we last saw falling to his death at the end of “The Dark Knight.”

The photos not only capture Bane on top of a vehicle, possibly giving a speech, but also being surrounded by some sort of armed militia. Could Bane be armed to the teeth with a number of followers? It stands to reason these would be members of the League of Shadows established in “Batman Begins,” finally following through on their plans to tear Gotham City asunder. But what possible connection could Bane have with Harvey Dent? When we spoke to Aaron Eckhart earlier this year, he confirmed that Dent was dead, but refused to comment about possibly showing up in this sequel. Could the late district attorney’s death be a key plot point in the next film? Perhaps he’s got a brief flashback scene to tie everything together?

Most amusing, however, is the married couple across the street from the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute. Having just got hitched, they got a sweet honeymoon gift from Christopher Nolan and company, being allowed to climb into the tumbler and have a taste of the Dark Knight’s ride. Though let’s just pretend it’s Poison Ivy and Killer Croc making cameo appearances. Pics from the shoot below from the Wick and JustJared.
