Yep, it’s summer, so it means the posters will keep on coming.
To kick off this two-fer is the excellent poster for the forthcoming documentary “Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest.” Directed by Michael Rapaport, the film is a warts and all look at the legendary hip hop group and the poster perfectly captures the vibe of their music and plays on the primary colored artwork of the band’s albums. As for the film, we caught it at the Tribeca Film Festival and fell head over heels, calling it “vibrant, full of life, pain, tears and heart.” So yeah, when it comes to your town go see it. The film opens on July 8th and will roll out from there so click here for the dates nearest you.
