Watch: Full Length 'Conan The Barbarian' Trailer Wisely Doesn't Let Jason Momoa Say Too Much

Jason Momoa is your new action star, folks. Or at least the industry is hoping to sell him that way to audiences. The actor, best known for his role on “Stargate: Atlantis” was given the CinemaCon Rising Star Award in March even though he’s never really toplined a major movie. But hey, if they give him the award then it must be true, right?

The first full-length trailer for the forthcoming “Conan The Barbarian” has arrived and it’s a great showreel of a bunch of stuff you’ve seen in other movies. That scene where the sky fills with arrows? Yep, it’s there. How about jumping out of a tall tower, from a castle into a body of water? Oh hey, that’s here too and in fact, there’s a variation of that scene with Jack Sparrow in the latest “Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” trailer too. Wisely Momoa doesn’t get many lines in this trailer and is mostly left to swing his sword and toss his Vidal Sassoon hair as he battles sand zombies or something, but all in all, this looks pretty terrible. Oh sorry, are we being too negative? Sorry nerds, we call it like we see it.

But hey, maybe we’re wrong and Momoa is the next Schwarzenegger. It could happen. “Conan The Barbarian” opens on August 19th.
