Watch: Trailer For 'Ceremony' Starring Michael Angarano & Uma Thurman

A trailer has arrived for Max Winkler‘s feature debut “Ceremony” and it actually does a pretty solid job of conveying the overall tone of his debut film. Starring Michael Angarano and Uma Thurman, the film tells the story of Sam (Angarano), a young brazen adult who stalks his penpal and ex-girlfriend Zoe (Thurman) all the way to her wedding in the Hamptons to try and win her back.

It’s a film with numerous charms, many of which are found in the scene-stealing supporting cast that includes an excellent Lee Pace as the arrogant husband-to-be, a terrific Jake Johnson as Zoe’s loutish brother and a solid Reece Thompson as Sam’s best and put-upon friend Marshall. It also features a great classic rock soundtrack and a Paul Simon song recorded by Vampire Weekend singer Ezra Koenig (Eric Johnson from the Fruit Bats wrote the score along with Van Dyke Parks). So definitely some highlights in the film worth checking out.

And the trailer itself doesn’t skimp on delivering the goods and in case you’re wondering, the songs featured in the spot are (in order) “I Was Born a Unicorn” by The Unicorns, a tune by Brother/Sister and “Primitive Man” by the Fruit Bats. Nice. And with all this great music floating around, we’ve been told that a soundtrack is on the way so stay tuned.

The film hits VOD on March 4th and heads to theaters on April 8th. Check out the trailer below or in HD at Apple.
