Watch: Official Video For A.R. Rahman & Dido's "If I Rise" From '127 Hours'

Though it has unfortunately and undeservedly fallen off the awards season radar, “127 Hours” still remains one of 2010’s best films, a frenetic, energetic and harrowing piece of work that uses the story of a man losing his arm to weave a larger thematic web about the importance of human connectivity. So yeah, if you haven’t seen it yet use this prime opportunity when theaters are filled with dreck to go check it out.

Anyway, one of the important pieces to the film’s success was a great soundtrack, a mixture of carefully selected songs (Free Blood “Never Hear Surf Music Again,” Bill Withers “Lovely Day”) and some solid, original compositions by A.R. Rahman. In addition to providing a score to the film, the songwriter teamed up with Brit chanteuse Dido for “If I Rise,” an uplifting little number featured in the film. And while it’s no “Festival” by Sigur Rós (the song that rips your gut out at the end of the film), it’s a sweet little track in and of itself. An official video for the song has been cut featuring scenes from the film and while it’s not exactly Earth shattering, it’s a nice little memory trip back to the movie.

“127 Hours” is in theaters now, video below. [Desi Hits!]
