Yep, it’s one of those days. Not long after it was revealed that “The Social Network” up-and-comer Armie Hammer was in talks to join Clint Eastwood‘s “J. Edgar,” a big name is now being linked to the upcoming film.
Vulture reports that Charlize Theron is being offered the role of Helen Gandy, a Justice Department file clerk who ended up being Hoover’s personal secretary, working for him for more than 50 years.
The plan is to shoot the film in early 2011, and if Theron takes the role we imagine that would put the kibosh on any involvement with “Snow White and the Huntsman,” the big-budget fairy tale remake the actress was linked to that is also gearing up to shoot early in the New Year. She was also rumored at one point as a contender for one of the female leads in Christopher Nolan‘s “The Dark Knight Rises,” but those rumblings seem to have dropped off for now.
Regardless, with DiCaprio leading the pack, Eastwood looks to be loading his next film with megawatt talent. We’re looking forward it.
