It’s a testament to how quickly the music world moves that 2007 and 2008 seem like it was decades ago, but if you remember, Canada’s Feist shot to the top of the pop music charts thanks to a very clever iPod ad that made a smash hit out of her song “1234.” It certainly didn’t hurt that the rest of her third album, “The Reminder,” was filled with a number of solid, hook-filled hits including “I Feel It All” and “My Moon My Man.” Arena tours followed as did television appearances, and her songs seemed to be everywhere for a couple of seasons.
Fast forward to 2010, and while Feist is taking her time with a followup, fans will have something new to check out very soon. Hitting stores on December 7th, “Look At What The Light Did Now” is a documentary about Feist’s creative process and includes interviews with a number of collaborators including Broken Social Scene‘s Kevin Drew, who is sitting in a very fantastic looking kitchen. The DVD will come paired with a bonus CD of solo piano reinterpretations of Feist songs by Gonzales, the producer and multi-instrumentalist who worked on the album.
