Full disclosure: Co-director Christopher Jason Bell also happens to write for The Playlist.
Other full disclosure: We aren’t friends with chumps.
Directed by Christopher Jason Bell and Ryan Sartor, “Pilgrimage” is a low-key, black-and-white indie comedy about a friendship that fails to survive the transition from high school to college. The short is an amusing and observant take on a relationship that has truly bottomed out, and the tone is pretty spot on.
The short is a prequel to Bell and Sartor’s feature length debut, “The Surprise Party,” which they are currently putting together. “Pilgrimage” is currently featured at Mubi in the Garage section and it’s definitely worth ten minutes of your day.
