OK, it may be not a lot to look at, but perhaps not any less to look at then recent early snaps. Here’s your first look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt in David Koepp’s “Premium Rush” which stars the young actor as a New York bike carrier who is accidentally carrying something that a crooked New York cop (played by Michael Shannon) is after.
We assume a pic like this will take place over a 24-hour-ish period and like the title suggests, will provide lots of thrilling chases throughout Manhattan. Finally a film for all those fearless and sometimes crazy bike couriers who put their lives at risk by just going to work every day.
If you’re unfamiliar with the name, Koepp’s long list of credits include directing Ricky Gervais in “Ghost Town” and “Secret Window” with Johnny Depp, plus many major writing credits including “Jurassic Park,” “Carlito’s Way,” “Mission: Impossible,” “Spider-Man,” “Panic Room” and most recently a rewrite job on “Men In Black 3D.”
Written by John Kamps and Koepp, the picture also stars Jamie Chung, and “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” correspondent Aasif Mandvi, and is likely due in theaters sometime next year. Dania Ramirez (“Heroes”) was also once reported as part of the cast, but it seems she’s been replaced by Chung.
