Daniel Espinosa To Direct Thriller ‘Blood On Snow’ For Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio gets involved with lots of things, so you may have forgotten that last fall the actor inked a deal to produce and possibly star in the big screen adaptation of bestselling author Jo Nesbø‘s forthcoming two-part book series “Blood On Snow” (written under the pseudonym Tom Johansson, which seems a bit pointless since everyone knows who wrote it, but whatever). Well, DiCaprio is still deciding whether or to star in the thing, but has lined up a pretty great director to take it on.

Daniel Espinosa (“Safe House,” “Easy Money“) is in talks to take the reins on this story that follows an assassin who falls for his boss’ wife after being assigned to kill her. Oops. No word yet on who will adapt the books, or when this might roll. Espinosa is currently busy in post on “Child 44” starring Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, Gary Oldman and Joel Kinnaman, and has a number of other gigs vying for his attention including a remake of “A Gang Story,” the John Grisham adaptation “The Racketeer” and the still-unconfirmed gig helming “Assassin’s Creed.”

But hey, Espinosa and DiCaprio could be a good fit, so we’ll just have to wait and see. [Deadline]
