Watch: 2 Clips And New Photos From Dylan Kidd’s ‘Get A Job’ With Anna Kendrick, Miles Teller & Alison Brie

Get A Job

What ever happened to director Dylan Kidd? His promising career had a terrific one-two punch in the early aughts: 2001’s blistering two-hander “Roger Dodger,” which gave us an early excellent early performance from Jesse Eisenberg, and the filmmaker followed it with 2004’s quasi-mystical mystery romance film “PS.” But it’s been twelve long years since Kidd made a film. Sort of. The indie filmmaker shot “Get A Job” with Miles Teller, Anna Kendrick, and Alison Brie, among others, back in 2012. But where has it been? Good question. For reasons unknown, “Get A Job” has languished somewhere, or in the editing room, who knows, for nearly four years. But now, it’s finally coming out.

The reality is films that overcook in the oven this long are often just problematic (“Serena” being a recent example) and filmmakers fuss for years trying to fix them. In some cases, like Kenneth Lonergan’s troubled “Margaret,” there’s a legal dispute in the middle of a protracted editing process that just delays the entire thing that much more. Which one is it? We don’t know, and it’s a bit unfair to say, but the pragmatist in you should probably at least have your antennae up. Here’s the synopsis:

Miles Teller, Anna Kendrick, and Bryan Cranston star in this wickedly funny comedy about making it in the real world. Life after college graduation is not exactly going as planned for Will (Teller) and Jillian (Kendrick) who find themselves lost in a sea of increasingly strange jobs. But with help from their family (Cranston), friends and coworkers they soon discover that the most important (and hilarious) adventures are the ones that we don’t see coming.

“Get A Job” also co-stars Brandon T. Jackson, Nicholas Braun, Christopher Mintz- PlasseMarcia Gay Harden, and Bryan Cranston, and opens theatrically and On Demand March 25th via Lionsgate. Check out two clips and new images below.
