If Brie Larson showed she could play complex, lead characters with tremendous skill in "Short Term 12," by all accounts she takes it to the next level in "Room." Following a very well received premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, and with a Toronto International Film Festival bow just around the corner, A24 is letting you know that you need to put this on your must-see list for the fall with a brand new trailer.
Directed by Lenny Abrahamson ("What Richard Did," "Frank") and based on the best-selling, acclaimed novel by Emma Donoghue, the story details the love between Ma, and her son Jack (Jacob Tremblay), who have been confined to a 10×10 foot room. And yet within those walls, Ma creates an entire world for Jack, until one day they plot escape, one that pitches her son into the real world for the first time. It’s powerful stuff, and our critic in Telluride said in his review that the film "has unforgettable, must-witness performances, and its soulful mother and son narrative is one of the most touching dynamics you’ll see in theaters this year."
"Room" opens in limited release on October 16th, and nationwide on November 6th. Watch the new trailer below along with a handful of featurettes.
