The Oscars Are Going To Try Going With 2 Hosts Again

OscarsOscar hosting is mostly a thankless job and one that’s nearly impossible. Not only does a potential host have to start the show on the right note, they also have to help sustain the excitement for hours on end, and keep the proceedings from slipping into tedium, which as we all know from watching at home, is a rare feat. It’s a big burden to put on the shoulders of one person, so they like they did a few years back with James Franco and Anne Hathaway, the show’s producers are going to get a duo to host the Oscars in 2016.

“There will be multiple hosts for sure — there will be two,” this year’s Oscar co-producer David Hill told EW. However, Hill’s co-producing partner Reginald Hudlin was a little more measure about confirming anything. “We have absolutely talked about duos. We’ve talked about a lot of different configurations,” he said. “I love that David is a flamethrower, and I’m always way more secretive and tight-lipped. But we’re still very much in the brainstorming phase.”

So, who do they got lined up? I like EW’s guess of Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, because that could be potentially great. So too would be the "Broad City" duo Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, though perhaps they’re quite established enough for such a big gig. And no, don’t suggest Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, because the latter has already said she wouldn’t do it.
