For me, "Looking" was that show on the HBO schedule I kept intending to watch, but continually got sidetracked with other things. It would seem that this was the case for a lot of people, or a significant enough amount for the network to cancel the show after just two seasons.
Executively produced by David Marshall Grant, Sarah Condon, and Andrew Haigh (the writer/director behind "Weekend" and already hugely buzzed "45 Years"), the west coast, San Francisco set dramedy just couldn’t seem to wedge itself into the major television conversation like other HBO shows such as "Girls," "Game Of Thrones," or "Silicon Valley." And indeed, ratings dropped from season one to season two. But HBO will give the show one last chance to say goodbye, with a final special episode. What that will entail is yet to be revealed, but it’s nice the show is being given a chance to end on the right note.
Thoughts? Was "Looking" let go too early? Let us know. [Deadline]
