It might be the bleep-heavy prime time broadcast version, but hey, it’s free. There’s very little chance you’ll be assassinated while sitting on your couch checking out Comedy Central’s “Roast of James Franco" from 2013, which has made its way online in its entirety.
There’s a lot to roast Franco about (although perhaps not as much as Justin Bieber, Comedy Central’s upcoming roastee), so the dais has a blast taking him down a peg or twelve. His pretentious Renaissance Man shenanigans, his sleepwalking hosting gig at the Oscars, his many terrible acting and directing work —nothing is off limits. Some of the highlights of the show include Andy Samberg’s oddly self-deprecating set, Bill Hader’s hilarious turn as “The President of Hollywood”, and Jonah Hill’s earnest and heartfelt reactions to every single low hanging fruit fat joke. It might have been Franco’s roast, but Hill ends up stealing the show by being a good sport. You can watch the roast below:
