Last month, shortly after the New York Film Festival premiere of Paul Thomas Anderson‘s "Inherent Vice," the full list of songs in the movie made their way online (listen to them right here). The cuts run the gamut from classic rock to an unreleased Radiohead song (recorded by members of Supergrass). Well, the details of the official soundtrack are here, and they mix most of the tracks from the movie with the score by Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood.
Among the tunes, you’ll find Can‘s "Vitamin C," Minnie Ripperton‘s "Les Fleur," and Neil Young‘s "Journey Through The Past" (a cut from the soundtrack to the Young-directed 1972 film "Journey Through The Past" which PTA has cited as an influence on "Inherent Vice"). And of course, there a healthy handful of score selections by Greenwood. And let’s not forget "Spooks," the Radiohead-sourced tune, though it’s unclear right now how it will be credited on the soundtrack.
"Inherent Vice" opens in limited release on December 12th, with the soundtrack dropping on December 15th. Tracklist and samples below. Amazon via [Film Music Reporter]
