With far too many headlines of late showing the tragic consequences of online bullying and the perils of social media, it hasn’t taken long for the film world to respond with movies like "Disconnect" and "uwantme2killhim?" exploring the consequences of a mouse click. But in the forthcoming "Cybernatural" that theme gets a horrific twist and we have the exclusive trailer to share with you today in advance of the film’s World Premiere this weekend at the Fantasia Film Festival.
Starring Shelley Hennig, Moses Storm, Renee Olstead, Will Peltz and Jacob Wysocki, directed by Leo Gabriadze and produced by Timur Bekmambetov, the film follows six high school kids who get an eerie message via Skype from a girl they bullied, who killed herself exactly one year earlier. And it’s no prank, as the girl starts revealing the darkest secrets about each of them, and worse, she wants them dead. And as you’ll see in this trailer, the story is entirely told via the computer screen.
"Cybernatural" debuts at Fantasia on Sunday, July 20th at 9:30PM at the DB Clarke Theatre. Watch below. And warning, it’s slightly NSFW.
