Alex Ross Perry Lines Up Emily Browning, Adam Horowitz, Mary Louise Parker, Jason Schwartzman & Chloe Sevigny For 'Golden Exits'

Having established his indie cred with “Listen Up Philip” and “Queen Of Earth,” director Alex Ross Perry had been eyeing two very different paths concurrently. He was Disney‘s surprising choice to write an upcoming live-action/CGI “Winnie The Pooh” movie, while he also attached himself to write and direct an adaptation of Don DeLillo‘s “The Names.” And while both of those projects are still developing, Perry will move next towards something else entirely, which should see him split the difference with a more starry cast while retaining his distinctive independent voice.

Emily Browning, Adam Horovitz, Mary Louise Parker, Lily Rabe, Jason Schwartzman, Chloe Sevigny and Analeigh Tipton are part of the ensemble cast of “Golden Exits.” The drama centers on two Brooklyn families who find unhappiness rising to the surface, when a young foreign girl goes overseas. But here’s the kicker —this project has been shooting for a while now and will wrap production in New York City this week. Clearly, this team is better at keeping secrets than the folks at Marvel.

Perry’s oeuvre tends to dwell on the unpleasant and uncomfortable, and “Golden Exits” looks like it’s cut from that same cloth. It’ll be interesting to see where the movie pops up, but Perry tends to work quickly, and I’d imagine a fall festival debut isn’t entirely out of the question. [Deadline]
