Denise Di Novi may be a first time director, but she’s no newbie to the industry or to filmmaking. A longtime producer who counts everything from “Batman Returns” to “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” to “Crazy, Stupid, Love” among her credits, she’s worked with budgets both big and small, and with A-list talent. And for her first turn behind the camera, she’s put together a thriller that hopes to be some pulpy fun.
Penned by David Leslie Johnson (“Orphan,” “The Conjuring 2“) and Christina Hodson (“Shut In,” the brewing Harley Quinn spinoff, the developing “The Fugitive” remake), starring Katherine Heigl and Rosario Dawson, and shot by Caleb Deschanel (“The Right Stuff,” “The Passion Of The Christ“), the movie follows a woman who decides to make life hell for her ex-husband’s new fiancé. Here’s the official synopsis:

Heigl stars as Tessa Connover, who is barely coping with the end of her marriage when her ex-husband, David (Geoff Stults), becomes happily engaged to Julia Banks (Dawson) — not only bringing Julia into the home they once shared but also into the life of their daughter, Lilly (Isabella Rice). Trying to settle into her new role as a wife and a stepmother, Julia believes she has finally met the man of her dreams, the man who can help her put her own troubled past behind her. But Tessa’s jealousy soon takes a pathological turn until she will stop at nothing to turn Julia’s dream into her ultimate nightmare.
“Unforgettable” opens on April 21, 2017.
