With the movie recently pushed back, and Joe Carnahan getting hot on his remake of “The Raid,” perhaps the writing was on the wall for this next bit of news.
THR reports that the director has exited the forever developing “Bad Boys For Life.” Depending on who you ask, scheduling conflicts or creative differences are to blame, and the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Carnahan had also penned the script for the sequel, but that might get rewritten or tossed, and it likely depends on which director decides to step in, and probably on the input of Will Smith, who tends to fuss over the details of his characters.
There’s still some time for the stars to align for this movie to get made as it’s not due in cinemas until November 8, 2018 but considering how long this project has been spinning its wheels, if it gets delayed again, I’ll hardly be surprised.
