“Blade Runner 2” starts filming this month, and you’re probably not going to know any specific details for a while (unless Warner Bros. decides to drop some intel at Comic Con next weekend, though I doubt it). So we’ll have to be patient, but one thing we do know is that the story will return to Los Angeles, and it’s just as grimy and smokey as it was in Ridley Scott‘s original, with concept art teasing a beautifully beat up world.
“The climate has gone berserk — the ocean, the rain, the snow is all toxic,” the director told EW about the movie, and he knows the weight of expectation that rests on his shoulders with this one, adding, “Failure is not an option.”
Starring Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Carla Juri, Mackenzie Davis, Barkhad Abdi, Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian and Hiam Abbass, “Blade Runner 2” opens on October 6, 2017.
