Paramount is gearing up for a very big week for “Star Trek Beyond.” The movie will have a big event screening at San Diego Comic Con, and the studio has gone ahead and announced that “Star Trek 4” is in the works. But let’s face it, they really need ‘Beyond’ to be a hit. “Star Trek Into Darkness” earned less domestically than its predecessor, though much more worldwide, but I’m sure the studio would like to see both numbers take an uptick. And they are doing all they can to sell tickets.

And so the week is kicking off with the final trailer for “Star Trek Beyond,” acting as a sizzle reel of what’s to come. This time around, the crew of Enterprise leap into action, and, along the way, face more aliens, more threats, and one big bad. Here’s the synopsis:
“Star Trek Beyond,” the highly anticipated next installment in the globally popular Star Trek franchise, created by Gene Roddenberry and reintroduced by J.J. Abrams in 2009, returns with director Justin Lin (“The Fast and the Furious” franchise) at the helm of this epic voyage of the U.S.S. Enterprise and her intrepid crew. In “Beyond,” the Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a mysterious new enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.
