At some point, the Russo Brothers are going step away from their incredible run with Marvel, and venture into non-superhero territory. It’s probably a safe bet that’ll happen once their finished with the followup to next year’s “Avengers: Infinity War,” and it looks like the duo will be moving away from the big screen and into an intriguing Peak TV project.

Deadline reports that Anthony and Joe Russo have signed up to produce and direct “The Mastermind,” which is set up over at FX. Based on a series of articles at The Atavist Magazine, the project is being compared to “Making A Murderer,” as it will tell the true story of Paul Le Roux, a brilliant programmer and criminal cartel boss who turns informant for the Drug Enforcement Administration. Adding to the potential of this series becoming must-see TV is Noah Hawley (“Fargo,” “Legion“) coming aboard to produce as well.
There’s no word on when this might make to air, but it’s safe to say it’s probably a good way off. The Russos have plenty of Marvel to wrap up before they leave that cinematic universe.
