California’s most charming realtors and totally normal suburban family are ready for more in season two of Netflix’s “Santa Clarita Diet.” Promo for the show has always been quirky and outside the box and this new trailer is no different. In the meantime, whet your appetite with the official synopsis below.
Picking up right where we left off, Season 2 of “Santa Clarita Diet” finds the Hammonds trying to adapt to Sheila’s now-advanced undead state — even though she’s desperately working to hold on to her suburban lifestyle and not be defined as just another monster. Unfortunately — while the family has become markedly better at murder — the number of missing people in Santa Clarita is starting to pile up and it’s no longer going unnoticed. Meanwhile, the Hammonds are chasing the source of the virus so they can stop it from spreading and save humanity — which seems important. Through it all, Sheila and Joel are grounded by their unconditional love for one another. Sure, being undead — or loving someone who is — isn’t always easy, but don’t all relationships have their challenges?

Returning are stars Drew Barrymore, Timothy Olyphant, and Liv Hewson. And, season two welcomes a whole slew of fresh faces in Joel McHale, Maggie Lawson, Gerald McRaney, and Zachary Knighton.
The horror-comedy comes from the mind of Victor Fresco. Fresco is best known for creating the cult favorite show “Better Off Ted” which ran for two, albeit critically acclaimed, seasons before its untimely cancellation. Fresco came up with the idea for the premise from wanting to take a fresh approach to a family show. His solution? Zombies. “The undead are the ultimate narcissists. They want what they want when they want it and will do anything to just have what they want and don’t care about other people’s needs,” he said to EW last year.
Take a bite of the new season on March 23rd.
