'Isle Of Dogs' Soundtrack Features Score By Alexandre Desplat

“That’s a nice thing to look forward to, a new Wes Anderson movie around the corner. I can’t wait,” Paul Thomas Anderson recently said, and we couldn’t agree more. “Isle Of Dogs,” the latest from Wes Anderson, is another stop motion animated wonder from the “Fantastic Mr. Fox” director, a picture we called a “miracle.” And as per usual, the soundtrack is going to be great.

Alexandre Desplat takes up the bulk of the sounds here, providing a “stunning score” that’s augmented by some cool, choice cuts. Psych-pop fans will get to groove to “I Won’t Hurt You” by the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, while cinephiles will want to perk up their ears for two cuts from Akira Kurosawa films: “Kanbei & Katsushiro Kikuchiyo’s Mambo” from “Seven Samurai” and “Kosame No Oka” from “Drunken Angel.”

“Isle Of Dogs” opens on March 23rd, and the soundtrack will be available on CD and digitally via ABKCO Records on March 30th. [Exclaim!]
