While the previous trailers for Disney’s upcoming film “Christopher Robin” have focused on the more dramatic aspects of the film, the latest teaser throws away all that sad nonsense and gives the audience exactly what they want – way more Winnie the Pooh.
We know the story of “Christopher Robin” focuses on an adult version of the classic Robin, as he deals with the decidedly adult tasks of working a thankless job, dealing with family drama, and trying to figure rediscover the joy in his life. Along the way, he comes across a childhood friend Winnie the Pooh. The trailer picks it up from there, as you meet the cast of stuffed animal characters that you know and love from the classic tales.
Plus, if those more classical movie score sounds of the previous trailers were bumming you out, this trailer features a song by pop band Walk the Moon. You know, because nothing says Winnie the Pooh, and classic London, quite like the Ohio band that gave audiences “Shut Up and Dance.” Not saying anything about the quality of the song, but it just feels weird as the background music to a Winnie the Pooh tale.
The “Christopher Robin” cast includes Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell, Mark Gatiss, as well as Jim Cummings as Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, Brad Garrett as Eeyore, Toby Jones as Owl, Nick Mohammed as Piglet, Peter Capaldi as Rabbit, and Sophie Okonedo as Kanga.
“Christopher Robin” will hit theaters on August 3.
